About

Jamie Balzer

Jamie BalzerJamie has worked in the field of interior decorating for over 10 years and has owned B&A Interiors, LLC for almost as long. Partnered with her daughter, Sammi Blake, Jamie has been honored to work in homes and businesses across the country. Knowledge and experience is but part of what she has to offer. As a young girl, Jamie intuitively understood that the placement of things, the color of things, and the arrangement of things evoke certain feelings. Working together with this knowledge, experience and intuition Jamie has answered the call to her life’s purpose- teaching the spiritual truth of what she believes- “Everything begins in the home”. As a branch of B&A Interiors, LLC, Living In Perfect Harmony emerged to teach her philosophy.  Jamie believes, “if you live peacefully and beautifully at home, you are well, your family is well and that helps to make the world a better place”. Jamie’s most passionate role is as a mother and grandmother.  Jamie currently lives and works in the Chicago area but also continues her business in Charlotte, NC as both a decorator and a homespace coach. She is certified in Reiki Therapy which she believes broadens her success as a homespace coach. Jamie is available for private consultations, lectures and seminars.

Becky Balzer

Becky BalzerBecky Balzer is a horticulturist with a great passion for anything green. As a young girl she grew up on the family farm nestled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The farm consisted of 27 acres and numerous pasturelands for harvesting hay as well as pasturing cattle. One of 13 children Becky could not wait to leave the farming life and endless chores behind. Ironically, while attending college she realized her career path pointed in the direction from which she came- nature. Becky graduated from VA Tech with a B.S. in Horticulture and a minor in Vocational Education in 1979. She has continued her education over the years with classes at both the University of VA and Mary Baldwin College. Her work has taken her through many areas of gardening with Floriculture being her real passion. Today she enjoys working at Townside Gardens in Roanoke, VA as well as speaking to groups and organizations about gardening. She also creates beautiful designs for weddings and other formal occasions. Becky says, “Nature is calming and peaceful. There are so many things you learn from nature that are beneficial for your psyche. Nature makes you realize that it is the simple things in life that mean the most.” Mother to three, grandmother to two, Becky takes real joy in knowing her love of nature has been passed down through the generations. His specialties come from his Mediterranean background and Italian influences growing up, a love of barbeque and smoked meats, as well as his culinary experiences in the South. Jennie Stockslager

Jennie StockslagerJennie Stockslager retired from teaching in 2007. She lives in New Lebanon, OH, with her husband Duke, co-owner of Stockslager’s Greenhouse & Garden Center, which was started over 50 years ago by his parents Ray and Joyce as a “hobby.” Truly a family business, it is co-owned by Duke’s brother Scott and employs their retired sister Vicki, as well as Duke and Jennie’s son Jacob and sister-in-law Barb. Their daughter Betsie, a National Board Certified Teacher, currently lives in Chicago, IL, where she is pursuing her master’s degree at Loyola. Because Jennie enjoyed every minute of teaching, she devoted her career to her students, so her own involvement in the greenhouse was minimal. (But for all the years of her marriage to Duke, she continues to appreciate the paradise he creates every year in their yard!) After a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2003 changed the direction of her life, most notably the end of her career, Jennie found ways to nurture herself through 5 recurrences, as well as do volunteer work. In particular, she serves on the Executive Board of Noble Circle, a grass-roots organization for women “thriving beyond their cancer diagnoses” (www.noblecircle.org). When asked, Jennie said, “Do I think I’d still be alive if I hadn’t found Noble Circle? Yes. I believe medicine could have done that for me. The difference, however, is that because of Noble Circle, I’m more than alive; I’m joyfully living. And life is actually better than it ever was!” She is currently waiting for the moment she will hold in her arms the grandchild she has been holding in her heart. Jennie can be contacted through email: jennie0480@gmail.com
